This site’s own hosting infrastructure keeps ordinary request logs to serve pages at all, covered on the privacy policy page rather than here, because a server log is not a cookie stored in a reader’s browser.
How long a cookie normally lasts
A session cookie holds only for as long as a browser tab or window stays open and disappears the moment it closes. A persistent cookie carries an expiry date set when it’s created — anywhere from a day to a couple of years, depending on what it’s for — and the browser deletes it automatically once that date passes, or sooner if a reader clears it by hand. Neither type survives a full uninstall and reinstall of the browser.
